Influence of Silica Sol on Modification of Acrylate Emulsion

摘要: 由正硅酸乙酯(TEOS)催化水解制得硅溶胶,通过半连续种子乳液聚合法制备了 SiO2/丙烯酸酯复合乳液,采用 FT-IR、SEM、TEM、TG对共聚物结构及乳胶膜形态进行表征,探讨了适合于乳液聚合的硅溶胶制备工艺条件及不同原料配比下硅溶胶对聚合反应稳定性及乳液性能的影响。结果表明:原料最佳配比下所制得硅溶胶为浅乳白色带蓝光,乳液聚合稳定性最好,且乳液各项性能最佳,涂膜吸水率仅为 14.43%。

Abstract: A silica sol was prepared by catalytic hydrolysis reaction of tetraethylorthosilicate(TEOS).Then the SiO, /Polyacrylate hybrid emulsion were copolymerized by seed emulsion copolymerization.The structure of copolymer and the morphology of latex film was characterized by FT-IR, SEM, TEM and TG respectively. The preparation condition of silica sol, which was suitable for emulsion polymerization and in-fluence of silica sol at various raw material ratio on stability of polymerization reaction and properties of emul-sion were discussed. The results indicated that under the best ratio of raw materials the silica sol showed a light blueish milk colour, good stability of polymerizatio reaction and excellent property of emulsion and the water absorbability of its film was only 14. 43%.
