Study on Polyester Resin for Ultra-durable Low-gloss Powder Coatings with High Flexibility and High Hardness

Abstract: In order to prepare ultra-durable dry mixed matting powder coatings withexcellent mechanical properties,the structures of high-and low-acid value polyesters weredesigned to improve the flexibility and surface hardness of ultra-durable low-gloss coatings.Hydrogenated bisphenol A(HBPA)was introduced into the high acid value polyester,which was combined with specific linear polyols and aliphatic cyclic polyacids. Meanwhile,monomers such as 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediol hydroxyvalerate monoester(HPN) and aliphatic cyclic polyacids were added to the low acid value polyester,and long-chain fatty acids wereused as capping agents. The results show that the powder coating,prepared by combining high-and low-acid value polyesters and cured at 200 ℃/10 min(TGIC curing agent), can achieve a coating gloss of 17 to 25,and indicate excellent surface hardness(3H)and toughness(bending 1T,recoil 50 cm), and also possesses outstanding weather resistance(600 h,gloss retention 65%-75%)and boiling water resistance(10 h,gloss retention 205. 5%).

摘要: 为制备机械性能优异的超耐候干混消光粉末涂料,通过设计不同高、低酸值聚酯结构,以改善超耐候低光涂膜的柔韧性和表面硬度。在高酸值聚酯中引入氢化双酚 A(HBPA)并与特定线型多元醇和脂肪族环状多元酸配合使用。同时,在低酸值聚酯中添加 2,2-二甲基 .1,3-丙,二醇羟基特戊酸单酯( HPN)和脂肪族环状多元酸等单体,并采用长链脂肪酸作为封端剂。结果表明:高、低酸值聚酯搭配制备的粉末涂料在 200 ℃/10 min(TGIC固化剂)条件下固化,涂膜光泽可达 17~25,拥有优异的表面硬度( 3H)及韧性( T弯 1T、反冲 50 cm),同时具备出色的耐候性( 600 h,保光率65%~75%)和耐沸水性( 10 h,保光率 205. 5%)。
