Preparation and Properties of Tung Oil Acid-Modified Acrylate Emulsion

桐油酸改性丙烯酸酯乳液的合成及性能研究

Abstract: The acrylate emulsion based on butyl acrylate(BA), methyl methacrylate (MMA), tung oil acid, potassium persulfate(KPS), sodium dodecyl sulphonate (SDS) and nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether(NP-10) was synthesized by emulsion polymerization.The influence of the tung oil acid content, the mass ratio of BA and MMA and the emulsifier content on the properties of the emulsions and films were studied. And the structure and properties of the emulsions and films were tested by FT-IR, SEM, particle size and zeta potential analyzer and membrane performance testers. The results showed that because of the addition of tung oil acid, the latex particle morphology was changed from sphere to cube or cylinder, the water absorption of film was reduced, and its hydrophobicity, pencil hardness and adhesion were improved. The conversion rate of emulsion was 98.4% and the gel content was 0. 012% when the content of tung oil acid and emulsifier were 1% and 3% of the monomer mass respectively and the mass ratio of BA and MMA was 1:1. The pencil hardness and adhesion of the film were upgraded to 5H and grade 2 with tung oil acid added.

摘要: 以丙烯酸丁酯(BA)、甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)、桐油酸、过硫酸钾(KPS)、十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)、壬基酚聚氧乙烯醚(NP-10)为原料合成了丙烯酸酯乳液,研究了桐油酸含量、单体配比、乳化剂含量对乳液及其涂膜性能的影响,并采用 FT-IR、SEM、粒径及 Zeta 电位分析仪和涂膜性能测试仪对乳液及涂膜的结构和性能进行了测试。 研究结果表明:桐油酸的加入使得乳胶粒的形态由球形变为方体或柱体,涂膜的吸水率有所减小,疏水性、硬度、附着力有所提高。 当桐油酸含量为 1%,乳化剂含量为 3%,m(BA) ∶m(MMA)= 1 ∶1时,乳液转化率达到 98.4%,凝胶率为 0.012%,涂膜的硬度、附着力从不加桐油酸时的 B 和 7 级提升到 5H 和 2 级。
