The title waterborne acrylate emulsion（PA）was prepared from N-carbamoylmaleamic（NCMA）butyl acrylate（BA）and acrylic acid（AA）at the presence of cumyl N-carbazolylcarbodithioare（，CCBD）as reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer radical polymerization（RAFT）agent. The molecular structure of PA was characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR. Effects of the amount of CCBD and APS，polymerization time were investigated by usingimpact strength as measurement indicator. The results showed that the optimal condition includes： the amount of CCBD and APS were 0.5% and 0.5% respectiverly，polymerization time was 4.0 h.The PA prepared under optimal condition provided excellent comprehensive properties.
