    Three kinds of waterborne hydroxyl acrylic resin(PAS, PAE and PAT)were prepared through solution polymerization, emulsion polymerization and two -step polymerization method respectively. The structures of resins were characterized by fourier transfer infrared(FT-IR), dynamic light scattering(DLS) and differential scanning calorimeter(DSC). The hydroxyl acrylic resins were mixed with hydrophilically modified polyisocyanate curing agent (Bayhydur XP 2655) respectively in the absence of catalyst to obtain a 2K waterborne polyurethane(2K-WPU) coatings. FT-IR was employed to investigate the structure of the cured coatings. Comparisons of properties of 2K -WPU coatings based on these three different resins were conducted which showed that the PAT -based coating gave better comprehensive properties.

    Cerium-zirconium mixed oxide mesoporous material was synthesized by the way of surfacant templates, which was then modified with silane coupling agent (y-methacyloxypropyl trimethoxy silane),and blended to prepare the mesoporous cerium-zirconium mixed oxide- epoxy hybrid materials. The hybrid materials were characterized and analysed, and the mechanical property and thermo-stability and their improvement were also explore.

    A fluorinated epoxy resin was prepared using luorinated surfactants(FSN), polyethylene glycol (PEG), isophorone isocyanate(IPDI) and epoxy resin(EP). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), contact angle(CA)and atom force microscopy (AFM) measurements were used to characterize the surface properties. The as-prepared surface of coating provided hydrophilicity and olephobicity simultaneously by chain segment reconstruction. It gave the best results when the content of FSN was 6%. when the surface contact angle 17° with water and 82° with hexadecane, respectively.

    The acrylic resin/Mg-Al-AA-LDHs nanocomposite was prepared from acrylate monomers, Mg-Al-AA-LDHs, as well as emulsifier, etc. by emulsion polymerization process. The samples prepared were characterized by XRD, SEM, DSC, and tested for its mechanical and thermal properties. Results showed that the resin, en-samples was a nanocomposite, the Mg-Al-AA-LDHs was dispersed( partly delaminated)in acrylic resin,enhancing its strength and toughness remarkably, and improve the shortcoming of "viscous when hot and brittle while cold " of pure acrylic emulsion. The composite provided excellent mechanical and thermal properties.

    A coating material containing novolac-epoxy based vinyl ester resin and glass flake was developed which showed excellent acid resistant performance.Effects of the proportion of filler on mechanical properties of the coating at 180 ℃ and the mass of glass flake on anti-corrosion at ambient temperature were investigated by mechanical tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, respectively. The results of the coating was obtained when the ratio of the resin showed that the best penetration resistant performance of to the glass flake was 10: 3, and the resistance of coating could be kept over 109Ω.cm2 indicating excellent corrosion resistance. The thermal degradation temperature of the coating varied with the increased sulfuric acid concentration, and could be up to 180 ℃, 160 ℃ and 100 ℃ in the 60%~70% and 80% of sulfuric  acid solutions respectively.

    Regarding the shortcomings(i. e. easy to be migrated and stain the clothes)of paraffin used in padauk furniture coatings, the paraffin was modified by methacrylate in order to enhance the thermal resistance and depress the migration. The optimum preparation process was gained by orthogonal experiments.The product was characterized by FT-IR. DSC. TGA and abrasion tester. Results showed that the thermal resistance increased by more than 13 ℃ and the abrasion resistance increased by 30%.The product was potentially applicable in the paraffin based coatings for padauk furniture.

    Using styrene, butyl acrylate, acrylic acid HEMA, N-MA DAAM and siloxane monomer as raw materials,(APS)as initiator to prepare the title self-crosslinking modified styrene-acrylate emulsion through pre-emulsification technology and semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization process.The influences of the amount and percentage of crosslinking monomers, amount of siloxane monomer, and amount of initiator and temperature on the emulsion performance were discussed. The results showed that the better comprehensive performance of emulsion could be obtained when the amount of crosslinking monomer was 5%, m( DAAM): m(N-MA)=3: 2, amount of siloxane monomer between 0. 5% to 1. 0% initiator 0. 4% and polymerization temperature between 83-87 °C.

    Micro-encapsulated ammonium polyphosphate was prepare by using melamine and formaldehyde as encapsulation material.Flame retardant one-component polyurethane water-proofing coating was prepared by reaction of poloxypropylene glycol (Acclaim2200 )and polyoxypopylene triol(4701)with toluene diisocyanate(TDI), then mixing with plasticizer, filler and flame retardant. ete. The influence of polyether percentage, -NCO content of prepolymer and dosage of flame retardant on the properties of coating was investigated. The results showed that when m(2200): m(4701)=2: 1. -NCO was 3.5%, the mass percentage of micro-encapsulated ammonium polyphosphate was 32%, the overall properties of flame retardanted one-component polyurethane water-proofing coating were excellent.

    An Uv-curable waterborne polyurethane acrylic resin has been synthesized from polybutylene glycol(PBG ), toluene diisocyanate(TDI), dimethylol propionic acid(DMPA)and hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA ). The resin was characterized by FT-IR analysis. The effects of the content of hydrophilic group and neutralization degree on emulsion properties were discussed, and physical properties of cured film were also characterized. The results showed that with the increase of the-cooh content. the emulsion granularity decreased, while the dispersion, stability and viscosity of the emulsion increased. When the neutralization degree was 90%, the viscosity of the emulsion hit up to a maximum value of 6.222 mpa s, and the particle size down to a minimum value of 59. 8nm. The water absorption of the cured film increased with the increase of the -COOH content. The cured film showed a good adhesion on PVC board, and the pencil hardness increased with the increase of the molar proportion of DMPA/PBG.

    Redispersible polymer powders were prepared by spray drying. Influences of drying temperatures.The viscosity of atomization, rotational speed of atomization disc, and liquid feeding rate on properties of redispersible polymer powders were investigated. The powder was characterized by scanning electronic microscope (SEM). The experimental results showed that inlet temperature of 120-140 ℃, outlet temperature of 70-80 ℃, atomizing disc speed of 24 000 r/min and feeding pump speed of 30-35 r /min were chosen as the optimal process condition, giving a redispersible polymer powders with fine fluidity, superior redispersibility. Its properties meets the requirement of redispersible polymer powders.

    Cuprous oxide is the main biocide used in marine antifouling paints, it's very important to investigate the leaching rate and degradation behavior of cuprous oxide. The IS0 15181 test method of copperion release rate was described in this paper, and the copper-ion release rate in different self-polishing antifouling paints formulations was discussed, and the degradation behavior of cuprous oxide in the marine environment was investigated. The results showed that the release rate of copper-ion could be adjusted by paint formula, the final degradation product of cuprous oxide in the marine environment was basic cupric carbonate.

    The single hydroxyl eleostearate was obtained by transesterification of tung oil and glycol. Series tung oll -based waterborne polyurethane were synthesized using polyester polyol-256, 2, 4-toluene diisocyanate(TDI), dirmethylolpropionlc acid (DMPA) and single hydroxyl eleostearate. The structure and properties of products were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA ) etc. The results showed that the target products were successfully synthesized;the tung oil-based waterborne polyurethane provided higher heat resistance, improved water -resistance hardness and tensile strength by increasing the content of single hydroxyl eleostearate but the elongation at break was decreased.

    In order to increase shielding performance of the coating, vinyl tri(β-methoxyethoxy ) silane coupling was used for the surface modification of nanometer SiO2, and the microscope was used to analyze the SiO2, scattered in the mother liquor and the static immersion method was used to study the transporting behavior of water in coatings. The results showed that if vinyl tri(β-methoxyethoxy) silane coupling agent content was above 3. 5% in the mother liquid, nano SiO2 could be dispersed effectively. When the content of the counling agent was 3.5%-4%. the transmission rate of water was the lowest in the coating and the shielding performance of the coating was the best with its best protective performance.

    Based on the collection and analysis of the test data of marine coatings performance, a management system for data of marine coatings was designed and established. Visual Basic 6.0 was used as the developing environment, and Access 2003 was used as the database platform. Seven categories of test data on twelve groups of marine coatings are saved in the system. By the system, users can understand the comprehensive performances of ship coatings by calculation of the weighted averages of the test data. The system provides mass information and friendly software interface, which is easy in operation. It is not only helpful to understand the synthetic performance of marine coating comprehensively, but also helpful for coatings maintenance on the surface of ships timely.It has practical guidance significance to the development of new marine coatings.

    In this paper, one kind of self-leveling vinyl resin-based floor coating with heavy corrosion resistance was prepared on the basis of raw material selection and formulation optimization. Effect of different vinyl ester resins, different vinyl resin-based color pastes and their dosage, different paraffin wax dispersion and their dosage, and additives on the appearance and corrosion resistance performance of coating film were discussed. The self-leveling vinyl floor coating was featured by its convenient to apply, good self-leveling, excellent corrosion resistance and storage stabilitly.

    The ultrafine colour paste, which was used in cathodic electrophoretic paint, was prepared via ultrasonic method. The average particle size and zeta potential of the ultrafine paint was discussed. The differences of the cathodic electrophoretic paint containing ultrafine colour paste or common colour paste, in stability of bath and appearance of film were analysised and compared. The results showed that the average particle size of the ultrafine colour paste was only 196 nm and Zeta potential 30 mV.The bath containin ultrafine colour paste had larger centrifugal stability. The deposite amount of the film with ultrafine colour paste was higher and the appearance was better and smoother than those of film with common colorant.

    Several kinds of paint samples and substrates were selected for test according to standard methods of pull-off test for adhesion. The test results were analyzed and compared, and the factors influencing the pull-off test results for adhesion were discussed. The results showed that the rougher or thicker the test result is bigger. Docking or non-docking condition of model and test column affected test data slightly. The harder and thicker of the substrates, the lower deviation of the test results. The more powerful of the adhesive bonding force, the higher of test results. The stretching speed showed no significant effect on testing results.

    The progress of surface treatment for magnesium alloys was reviewed which includes high-energy surface modulation technology, (plating ) treatment and oxidation film surface treatment and organic coatings. Moreover, the advantages, disadvantages and developing trend of the above mentioned processes were analyzed; the protective technologies for magnesium alloys were also prospected.
