Abstract

[Objective] The purpose of this paper was to investigate the effect of APTES hydrolysis conditions on the modification effect of PAN fibers, and the enhancement effect of modified PAN fibers on the mechanical properties of anti-slip coatings.[Methods]Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy was used to analyze the hydrolysis characteristics of APTES under different pH values,so as to determine the optimal hydrolysis pH value. APTES was adopted to modify PAN fibers, and the modification mechanism of fibers was analyzed by means of micro-morphology observation andFT-IR characterization. The effects of modified and unmodified PAN fibers on the properties of anti-slip coatings were compared through adhesion test, wear test,three-dimensional morphology test and friction coefficient test.[Results]The hydrolysis degree of APTES tended to be stable under pH=9 value condition. Under this condition,a nano-scale rough structure was formed on the surface of modified PAN fibers, and FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed that Si—O—C covalent bonds and amino groups were successfully grafted. When the addition amount of APTES-PAN fibers was 3%,the coatingadhesion reached 13. 5 MPa,which was 31% higher than that of the group without fiber addition, the impact integrity rate increased from 50% to 100%,after 600 wear cycles, the wear loss was reduced by28%,and the dry,wet and oil friction coefficients reached 1. 12,0.98 and 0.88,respectively. Unmodified PAN fibers indicated no obvious improvement on coating properties, and even reduced the adhesion.[Conclusion] APTES has the best hydrolysis effect when pH=9. Its modification can enhance the interface bonding between PAN fibers and coatings through chemical bonding andmechanical interlocking. The addition amount of 3%APTES-PAN fibers can significantly improve theadhesion, wear resistance, and friction coefficient of anti-slip coatings, and the constructed synergisticanti-wear system can effectively optimize the comprehensive properties of the coatings.
