Abstract

[Objective]By incorporating into epoxy resin, the poor corrosion resistance and high friction coefficient in pure epoxy coating were addressed, achieving a synergistic enhancement of bothcorrosion and wear resistance of the coating on copper alloy surface.[Methods] Graphene wasdispersed as a filler in solvent-free epoxy coatings. The effect of graphene content on the corrosion andwear resistance of epoxy coating applied to the copper alloy substrates was then investigated.[Results] The self-corrosion current density of the graphene/epoxy composite coating was significantly lower thanthat of the pure epoxy coating. Meanwhile, compared with the pure epoxy coating, the friction coefficient and wear rate of the graphene/epoxy composite coating were reduced by 50% and 91. 6%,respectively.[Conclusion] The Graphene/epoxy composite coating could significantly improve the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of coated copper based friction pairs, and appropriate graphene contentcould achieve the synergistic enhancement effect of corrosion resistance and wear resistance of thecoating.
