Abstract

[Objective]In order to enhance the sound insulation performance of waterborne coatings.[Methods] A wide-temperature-domain sound-insulating composite was prepared via aphysical blending modification method, using waterborne polyurethane(WPU)as the matrix, hindered phenolic filler as the damping matrix element, and inorganic flake filler as the sound insulation matrixelement. The dispersion of the fillers was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, and the prepared composites were analyzed by infrared spectroscopy, dynamic mechanical analysis and acoustic impedance test for damping and sound insulation properties.[Results] The dispersion of fillers inWPU was successfully improved by high-temperature stirring after ball milling, and the effective damping temperature range(tan δ>0. 3)of the ternary aqueous acoustic damping composites preparedby adding 60% hindered phenol AO-60 and 30% lamellar black mica to WPU was widened to -7 ℃ compared with that of the pure WPU at 30 ℃,and the noise reduction effect reached 30 dB.[Conclusion]The dual-filler system provided a new technological path for the development of multi-functional and eco-friendly soundproof coatings, which was expected to achieve wider application in the fields of architectural and industrial coatings.
