［Objective/Significance］Artificial boards were often decorated with impregnatedpaper which was treated by resins for impregnation.［Analysis/Discussion/Progress］The research focused on the functionalization of resins for impregnation and impregnated paper. The research progress of resins for impregnation and impregnated paper on fire protection，antibacterial performance， wear resistance，and environmental protection was reviewed. It was pointed out that the special functional fields such as self-healing，anti-fingerprint，and fragrance release provided new ideas for thedevelopment of resins for impregnation and impregnated paper.［Conclusion/Prospect］The research and development of resins for impregnation and impregnated papers presented tripartite challenges： performance balance，production processes optimization，and cost management. It predicted that future development should prioritize functionalization，greening，and intelligentization，to promote the application of functional resins for impregnation and impregnated papers in diverse fields，includingarchitectural engineering，smart homes，flexible electronics，and other fields，thereby enhancing the economic value and productivity of related industries.
