With the deep integration of the global economy and the increasing popularityof sustainable development concepts，the standardization work in the coatings and pigmentsindustry had achieved significant achievements and was also facing new opportunities andchallenges. This paper analyzed the current situation of the coatings and pigments industry andstandardization work in China，and proposed the future planning and direction of standardization work in the coatings and pigments industry，combining the latest requirements for high-quality development of the state，so as to continuously play a leading role instandardization for promoting sustainable and high-quality development of the industry.
