Abstract

To solve the dispersion problem of graphene in coating, graphene oxide-coated hollow glass microspheres(GO-HGM)were prepared using hollow glass microspheres(HGM)and graphene oxide(GO)as the raw materials. Then, through thermal reduction,functionalized powders(RGO-HGM) with electrical conductivity were obtained. The structure and microscopic morphology of GO-HGM and RGO-HGM were analyzed by FT-IR,Raman,XPS and SEM. The results showed that GO was successfully coated onto the surface of HGM and thermally reduced to RGO-HGM,restoring a certain level of conductivity. Adding RGO-HGM to epoxy zinc rich coatings with a zinc content of 50% could effectively increase the activated zinc content, thereby improving the cathodic protection ability of the epoxy zinc rich coating. The best anti-corrosion effect was achieved when the addition amount was 6%.
