Abstract

In order to improve the hydrophobicity and abrasion resistance of metalliccopper surfaces in the engineering field, superhydrophobic copper surfaces were prepared by acombination of nanosecond laser etching technology and superhydrophobic coatings, and the morphology, wettability, and abrasion resistance of the copper surfaces were characterized, and the frost suppression of the surfaces was analyzed in terms of both frost time and frost layerthickness. The results showed that the superhydrophobic copper surface had superhydrophobicity(water contact angle of 156 °,water rolling angle of 3. 9 °),and had good frost suppression at cooling temperatures of -15 ℃,-10℃ and -5℃(ambient temperature(28±1)℃,relative humidity(78±2)%); compared with the ordinary copper surfaces, the higher the temperature of the cold surface, the more obvious the effect of frost suppression, and the effect of frost suppression was the result of the combined effect of laser etching and superhydrophobic. The frost inhibition effect was a combination of laser etching and superhydrophobic coating. Thesuperhydrophobicity was maintained after 50 linear wear cycles.
