Preparation and performance of nanocomposite fluorocarbon resin anti-icing coatings

Abstract

Nano composite fluorocarbon anti-icing coatings was prepared by using fluorocarbon resin as the base resin,nano SiO2 and polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) as functional fillers. The focus was on the influence of surface characteristics and microstructure of paint films on the hydrophobicity and anti-icing performance under different types of base resin,different contents of nano SiO2 and PTFE. The results showed that the anti-icing coating film prepared with a nano SiO2 content of 25% of the pure solid resin and a PTFE content of 25% of the pure solid resin had a water contact angle of 128 °,a rolling angle of 6 °,and an icing force of 26.1 N. It also had excellent weather resistance,corrosion resistance,and resistance to liquid media,which could meet the requirements of multiple industrial fields for anti-icing.
