Abstract

A nanocontainer[PDA@(NH2-UiO-66@BTA/TiN)] with photothermal conversion function was prepared by loading BTA(corrosion inhibitor)and TiN(photothermal agent)onto the metal-organic framework(NH2-UiO-66)through a“one-pot”method followed by coating a layer of polydopamine(PDA)with good compatibility with epoxy resin. It could enhance the photothermal performance and prevent unnecessary release of corrosion inhibitor. The morphological characterization and sustained-release effect of corrosion inhibitor of the prepared nanocontainers were characterized, and the self-healing and electrochemical performance of the epoxy coating containing nanocontainers were then tested. The resultsindicated that the composite material exhibited an octahedral structure with uniform particlesize. The nanocontainer shell thickened after the PDA was coated. The outer layer of PDAand the inner layer of TiN could effectively improve the photothermal performance, facilitate the release of corrosion inhibitor under light irradiation, while prevent the release of corrosion inhibitor to a certain extent in the absence of light. When the prepared nanocontainer were added as fillers in the epoxy coatings,self-healing and anticorrosiveproperties of the coating could be enhanced. The self-healing efficiency at scratches reached 98. 62%,and the coating maintained excellent protective capabilities after self-healingunder light irradiation, with impedance modulus values remaining above 107 Ω ·cm2 after 20 days of immersion in 3. 5%NaCl solution. Furthermore, the metal surface remained largely free of corrosion products. In summary, the prepared PDA@(NH2-UiO-66@BTA/TiN) nanocontainers could significantly improve the self-healing and anticorrosive properties ofepoxy coatings.
