characteristics， modification research status， preparation methods， advantages and disadvantages were introduced. On the basis of studying the interface combination between hydrogel coating and various furniture materials，the application possibility of hydrogel coating in the field of furniture was explored，such as the surface of upholstered furniture，the surface of kitchen and bathroom furniture，and the surface of children's furniture；as a green material，the hydrogel coating，in addition to its own advantages of flame retardancy and oil repellency，could also carry various chemicals due to its special structure，which made it have anti-corrosion and antibacterial properties. In addition，a large number of modification researches on adhesion improvement were reviewed to broaden the idea for the application of hydrogel coating in the household field.
