A special process of first spraying flash paint，then spraying plain paint，and finally spraying transparent varnish was used to prepare a high color dual coating paint.Compared to traditional single-layer paint systems，this new system had higher film thickness.There were various quality issues on the high chroma two-layer basecoat paints before massproduction，such as body color difference，splashing pollution，spots，“blister”defects，repair color difference，and other series of problems. An analysis was conducted on the causes ofthese difficult issues and effective solutions were provided. At the same time，for the mass production application of high color dual coating paint，key management projects need to be sorted out from the perspectives of machine，material，method，and environment，and effective countermeasures are proposed to ensure the stability of color in mass production.
