Preparation and Performance Study of Elastic Sand Corrosion Resistant Coatings for Helicopter Rotors Leading Edge

Abstract

To improve the sand and gravel erosion resistance of the helicopter rotor leading edge,elastic resin was used as the base resin,silicon carbide and polytetrafluoroethylenepowder were used as wear-resistant fillers to prepare component A of the elastic sand corrosionresistant coatings,and elastic curing agent was used as component B of sand corrosion resistantcoatings. The focus was on discussing the effects of different base resins,different curing agents,different ratios of n(— NCO)to n(— OH), different wear-resistant fillers,and the amount of wear-resistant fillers on the performance of elastic sand corrosion resistant coatings.The results showed that the prepared elastic sand corrosion resistant coatings had a wear lossof 10mg,a tensile strength of 26. 3 MPa,a fracture elongation of 278%,and excellent sand and dust resistance,which could meet the requirements for protecting the stainless steel partsof the helicopter rotor leading edge.
