Research Progress of Superhydrophobic Coatings and Its Functionalization

Abstract

As special coating,the research and application of superhydrophobic coatinghave always been paid considerable attention to. In recent years, based on superhydrophobicity,endowing the coating with function to meet the requirements of emergingfields has become current research hotspot. In this paper,the main preparation methods of superhydrophobic coating were introduced,including template method,phase separation method,sol-gel method,layer by layer assembly method and spraying method,and their advantages and disadvantages were compared. Then,the research progress of the functionalization(electrical conductivity,flame retardancy,thermal conductivity,transparencyand self-healing)of superhydrophobic coatings were reviewed in detail,and the importance in practical application was pointed out. Finally,the existing problems in this field were summarized,and the development directions in future were looked forward.
