Abstract

To improve the low-temperature flexibility and hydrophobicity of one-component polyurethane, hydroxyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS-OH) was introduced into latent curing one-component polyurethane prepolymer through solution polymerization to prepare silicone modified latent curing one-component polyurethane material. The effects of the addition ratio of PDMS-OH on the properties of modified polyurethane materials were investigated by infrared spectroscopy, dynamic mechanical analysis and tensile performance test. The results showed that the damping factor of themodified polyurethane material increased and the glass transition temperature shifted towardslow temperature with the increase of the PDMS-OH addition ratio. Although the tensile strength of the material decreased, the elongation at break increased. The contact angle increased and the water absorption decreased. Therefore, the silicone modified one-componentpolyurethane showed the wider application temperature range and improved service conditionfor its excellent low-temperature flexibility and hydrophobicity.
