Abstract

In order to improve the hydrophobicity and corrosion resistance of epoxy resin coatings,a solvent-free fluorinated polyacrylate(PFEMA)with epoxy groups was designed. The structure and properties of solvent-free fluorinated polyacrylate modified epoxy resincoatings were investigated using infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy(FESEM)water contact angle(CA),and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). The resultsshowe,d that with the increase of the amount of solvent-free fluorinated polyacrylate, the water contact angle of the coatings increased from 69° to 115°;Compared with pure epoxy resin coatings, fluorinated polyacrylate/epoxy resin coatings had higher impedance modulus values. In addition, with the increase of the amount of fluorinated polyacrylate in epoxy resin, the corrosion rate decreased, and the composite coating still had good protective effect after soaking in 3. 5%NaCl solution for 15 days. Therefore, the introduction of fluorinated polyacrylate could significantly enhance the corrosion resistance of epoxy resins.
