Preparation and Properties Study of Graphene/Polyaniline Waterborne Potassium Silicate Zinc-rich Anticorrosion Coating

Abstract

The waterborne potassium silicate zinc-rich anticorrosive coating was widelystudied for its safety,environmental protection,good heat resistance and acid/alkali resistance. However,its high zinc content,which was harmful to the health of workers,reduced the mechanical properties and increased the difficulty of application. In this paper,the graphene prepared by chemical vapor deposition was used to synthesized graphene/polyaniline composite by in-situ polymerization. The morphology and structure of the composite were characterized by scanning electron microscopy,micro-confocal laser Raman spectrometer,X-ray diffractometer and infrared spectrometer. The effect of composite on the properties ofwaterborne potassium silicate zinc-rich anticorrosive coating was also studied. For the coating, when the mass ratio of zinc powder to basic material was 1∶1 and the addition of composite was 2%,the adhesion was level 1,the hardness was 5H,the self-corrosion potential(Ecorr)was -0. 533 V,the self-corrosion current density(icorr) was 4. 788×10-7 A/cm2,the impedance modulus value(|Z|0. 01 Hz) under low frequency was 4. 25×104 Ω ·cm2,and the static water contact angle was 89. 8° . The graphene/polyaniline composite could not only improve thecorrosion resistance and mechanical properties of the coating,but also increase the effective utilization rate of zinc powder to reduce the zinc powder content.
