Development and Performance Study of High-performance Graphene/Epoxy Coatings with Low Content of Zinc

Abstract

In order to solve the problems such as blistering,shrinkage and poormechanical performance caused by high content of zinc powder in traditional epoxy zinc-richcoatings,the coating formula was optimized and screened. And adding ultra-high conductivitygraphene powder to develop a high-performance graphenel/epoxy coatings with low content ofzinc. The adhesion,impact resistance,water resistance,neutral salt spray resistance and moisture and heat resistance of the coating were tested. The results showed that the graphene/epoxy anticorrosion coatings with low content of zinc prepared by using 19. 35%E-20 epoxy resin,2. 15% polyamide additive curing agent,45% zinc powder,10% talcum powder,2% thixotropic agent 881B,1% leveling agent AFCONA-3777,0. 5% graphene and 20% diluent 2033,the coatings had excellent impact resistance(50 cm),adhesion(16 MPa), 
excellent salt spray resistance(2 000 h),water resistance(2 000 h)and damp heat resistance(2 000 h),which could be used in harsh corrosive environment.
