In order to develop visible light catalytic material with high utilization rate ofnatural light and photogenerated quantum, the Ag-black nano TiO
2-tourmaline(ABTT)was prepared by a three-step method of“sol-gel + vacuum induction + hydrogen reduction”using natural tourmaline powder, titanate, silver nitrate etc. as core raw materials. The photocatalytic properties, absorbance, microstructure, natural electric field properties and antibacterialperformance were characterized by photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange, absorbance spectra, scanning electron microscopy(SEM), SEM electron beam bombardment and bacteriostatic zone method, respectively. The results showed that the disordered structure onmicroscopic and crystal nucleus surfaces gave ABTT the dark gray black appearance, while the black nano TiO
2 presented as multilayered particles with nanoconvex and abundant nanopores, which could provide more reaction sites for photocatalytic process. The electron beambombardment behavior of ABTT particles showed a bright and agglomerated phenomenon, which indicated that the natural electric field characteristics of tourmaline were well maintained in ABTT particles, and obvious redshift was obsrved in the UV-Vis spectrum. Thephotocatalytic degradation rate of methyl orange by ABTT reached 99. 2% in 120 min. Whenthe mass ratio of ABTT to ordinary interior wall coating was 0. 8∶100,the photocatalytic degradation rate of formaldehyde reached 88. 6% in 24 h,and the diameter of antibacterial circle of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli could reach 20. 3 mm and 22. 5 mm, respectively. Hence the ABTT had excellent photocatalytic performance and antibacterialperformance under natural lighting conditions, showing a very good application prospect in the field of environmental protection.
