Abstract

Multifunctional polymer coatings is one of the important research directions ofmarine coatings. In this paper, the epoxy resin modified by silicone oil was prepared byphysical blending method, which had the function of anti-corrosion,anti-pollution and anti-drag. The adhesion, contact angle, peer strength, drag reduction and diatom adhesionresistance of the coating were tested. The results showed that the epoxy coating modified by silicone oil had good adhesion on the surface of aluminum alloy substrate, and the grading was 0. The surface was hydrophobic, the water contact angle reached 103. 49°,and the peer strength of the adhesive tape was only 0. 002 N/cm,which was significantly lower than beforemodification. It had inhibition effect on diatom attachment, and the inhibition rate reached 70%. At the same time, the friction resistance with the water flow was reduced. The hydrophobicity, antifouling and drag reduction of the epoxy coating were improved by addingdimethyl silicone oil to the epoxy resin for physical blending modification.
