Abstract

In this paper,a silicon-based acrylic antifouling resin grafted with BIT wasprepared by copolymerization grafting silicon material and anti-fouling agent to acrylic resin, which showed a synergistic antifouling mechanism. The structure and relative molecular massof resin were determined by infrared spectroscopy(IR)and gel permeation chromatography(GPC), respectively. The contact angle,quality loss in static seawater immersion,algal inhibition and marine field antifouling assessment were also measured. The results showed thatthe contact angle of the resin increased with the increase of silicone content. The BIT-Wgrafted on the resin could be released slowly and steadily in seawater,showing an approximately linear mass loss curve,and the average weight loss ranged from 0. 03 mg to 0. 09 mg. The resin had excellent inhibitory effect on Chaetoceros curvisetus and Chlorella sp., and by adjusting BIT-W content,the inhibition rates could reach 70. 8% and 82. 7%, respectively. The antifouling resin had the advantages of easy synthesis and low cost rawmaterial,and the introduction of antifouling agent and silicon made the resin have goodantifouling performance in both static and dynamic water.
