Preparation and Properties of Multiple Self-crosslinking Waterborne Acrylic Resin Dispersion

Abstract

In order to prepare a water-based emulsion of fluorinated polymer with high solid content,long time storage stability and room temperature curing,perfluorinated orpolyfluoroalkyl oxidized amine surfactants were added into the process of vinylidene fluoridepolymerization by soap-free emulsion polymerization. During the polymerization,vinylidene fluoride-hexafluorography(VDF-HFP)copolymer was used as the seed emulsion and acrylicacid monomer copolymer was used as the shell,by optimizing the content of the componentsand the polymerization process conditions to achieve the high solid content emulsion. The solidcontent of PVDF waterborne emulsion was 40%-53% and the emulsion still maintained the original state of the particles after 4 months. The emulsion did not appear condensationphenomenon after high-speed mixing shear,after curing at room temperature the films were level and smooth,and the surface had no defects. After construction and coating performance test,the results showed that copolymerization modified PVDF waterborne emulsion spraying and roller coating construction were normal,and the comprehensive performance of the paintfilms were comparable to the solvent-type PVDF coatings.
