Preparation and Anti-corrosion Properties of Photocurable Coating with Photosensitive Phosphate-doped Polyaniline

Abstract

A series of photosensitive phosphate was synthesized via a ring-openingreaction of protic acids(pivalic acid,lactic acid and 2,2-dimethylolpropionic acid) and glycidyl methacrylate(GMA)and the subsequent phosphorylation with pyrophosphoric acid.The as-prepared photosensitive phosphate was employed to dope PANI,which was used as anticorrosive fillers to prepare UV-curable anticorrosive coatings. The successful preparationof photosensitive phosphate was confirmed by 1H NMR and FT-IR. The dispersion behavior ofphotosensitive phosphate ester doped polyaniline was investigated. The results showed that thedoping of PANI by photosensitive phosphate with higher content of phosphate could enhancethe dispersion of PANI in the UV-cured coating. The influence of the incorporation of doped polyaniline on the UV-curing behavior,coating adhesion and corrosion resistance of the UV-curable coating were studied. The gel content test results showed that the addition ofphotosensitive phosphate doped PANI(≤2. 0%)had little effect on the curing degree of thecoating. The adhesion performance of the UV-cured coating was improved with the addition ofdoped PANI,which increased from 2. 49 MPa to 3. 52 MPa with the increase of the phosphatecontent in the phosphate ester. The corrosion resistance of the coating was investigated byelectrochemical impedance spectroscopy and salt spray experiments. At optimum conditions,the 30d |Z|0.1Hz value of the UV-cured coating with doped PANI was still higher than 109Ω·cm2 after immersion,suggesting the significantly enhanced anti-corrosion performance with theincorporation of photosensitive phosphate PANI.
