Research Progress of Environment-friendly Anti-fouling Polymers

Abstract

Marine biofouling is a long-standing and worldwide problem,and the synthesisof environment-friendly antifouling polymers have become an important research directionwith the increasing demand for environmental protection. The synthesis of anti-proteinadsorption antifouling polymers,amphiphilic antifouling polymers,fouling release antifoulingpolymers and degradable antifouling resins were introduced respectively. The degradation andantifouling mechanism of the degradable antifouling resins,and the synthesis of antifoulingresins with degradable main chain and hydrolysable side chain were emphatically introduced.The degradable antifouling resins could minimize the marine fouling through self-degradatinginto small molecules under the action of water or enzymes and there was no obviousshortcomings in the face of complex real sea conditions,and therefore showed the best development prospects.
