Waterborne epoxy curing agent is an important part of waterborne epoxy system,and its composition and structure play an important influence on the physical and chemical properties of coatings films. In this paper,the types and characteristics of waterborne epoxy curing agents were described,and the general preparation methods and advantages anddisadvantages of ionic and non-ionic waterborne epoxy curing agents were summarized. The effect of the compatibility and reactivity of waterborne epoxy curing agents on the curing films and its control methods were also discussed,which provided guidance for selection of suitable curing agents and development of waterborne epoxy curing agent with excellent performance.
