The water-based aluminum triphosphate/graphene oxide composite anticorrosion pigment was prepared by Ball-mill dispersion method, and it was applied to water-based epoxy resin to prepare EP-AlTP/GO nanocomposite coating. AlTP/GO could be evenly dispersed into EP resin which was observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The water absorption test showed that the introduction of graphene oxide improved the water resistance and shielding performance of the coating. The adhesion strength test results showed that aluminum triphosphate improved the adhesion strength of the coating in metal substrate Electrochemical test (Bode) and environmental scanning electron microscopy test (E-SEM) showed that AlTP/GO effectively enhanced the water-based epoxy coating for the shielding effect of corrosion medium and limited the spread of the corrosion reaction. The low frequency impedance was 7.02 x 107 Ω. cm2 after immersion at 3.5 wt. % NaCl aqueous solution 40 days, the metal surface was smooth after salt spray test 400h.The EP-AlTP/GO coating showed excellent anticorrosion performance.
