With the increasing stringent of the environmental regulation，the commercial vehicle coating lines are faced replacement of raw materials of low VOC coatings. According to the newly issued national standard GB24409-2020“Limit of harmful substances of vehicle coatings”and GB/T 38597—2020“Technical requirement for low-volatile-organic-compound-content coatings product”，this paper，demonstrated with a coating line for the cab of commercial vehicle as an example，analyzed the total VOC emission of normal solid solvent-based coatingsafter treatment of waste gas by using the material balance approach. The factors that influence the VOC emission for high solid and water-based coatings were compared，which would provide a valuable contribution for the renovation of existing coating lines or newly established lines.
