A flexible fluorocarbon coating for concrete structures in the marine environment is developed by using the high quality elastic fluorine resin as the binder, the weatherproof flexible isocyanate as the curing agent in addition to the suitable pigments, fillers and additives, etc. The effects of different curing agents, different R value (mol ratio of NCO/OH) and dispersant on the performance of the fluorocarbon coatings are discussed. The tensile strength of the optimized elastic fluorocarbon coating is 12.59 MPa, the elongation at break is 200%. After 5 000 h artificial aging, the film shows no chalking and cracking, and the gloss retention rate is up to 87%. The test results show that the prepared products have excellent weatherability and anticorrosion properties, and also have high elongation and crack resistance of the elastic coatings. It is a good solution to the problems of poor aging resistance and poor cracking resistance of the protective coatings for concrete structures.
