Anti-Biological Testing Methods and Evaluation Standards for Waterborne Coatings and Products

Anti-biological functional coatings have excellent advantages of resistance to microbial and algae, and have been widely used in indoor and outdoor building finishing. In order to verify the anti-biological properties of the coatings and their products, it is quiet necessary to test and evaluate the anti-biological properties of the coatings. In this article, the testing and evaluation methods of antimicrobial properties for coatings are introduced. the standard systems for testing and evaluating the anti-biological properties of the coatings and their films are described, and the parameters of various testing standards are compared, which will help the experimenters to choose more suitable testing methods and standards for anti-biological coatings.
