In order to improve the performance of rutile titanium dioxide(TiO
2)in polyester resin coatings,a three-layer structure was constructed on the TiO
2 surface by wet coating method to prepare the modified TiO
2(P-Zr-Al/TiO
2). XRF and TEM were used to characterize the structure and properties of modified TiO
2,and the pigment properties of the powder weretested to evaluate its wrapping effect. The results showed that the rutile TiO
2 modified byzirconium-sulfuric acid coating process using sodium hexametaphosphate as phosphorus coating agent had good optical properties, with
L* value of 98. 89,hiding rate of 85. 52%,and oil absorption of 17. 5 g/100 g. After exposure to the simulated environment of sunlight andrain for 240 h,the light loss rate of polyester resin coating was 47. 3% and the Δ
E was 0. 84.
