According to the defects such as color difference, water stripe, sand lines and pockmarks of the concrete in construction, a kind of decorative coatings with protective properties for these defects was prepared by selecting raw materials and optimizing components. The main properties of the coatings were measured, furthermore, the change of appearance, impermeability and corrosion resistance of the coated concrete were studied. The results showed that the adhesive strength of the prepared coating was 2.2 MPa and the water contact angle was 126.22°. After painting the coating onto concrete surface, the color difference between the defective concrete and the normal concrete was 3.93. The water absorption of concrete after 3 h and 24 h was reduced by 56% and 60% respectively. The passed electric charge of the concrete after 28 d and 56 d was reduced by 51% and 43% respectively. The strength reduction of the concrete in sulfate corrosion after 120 d was just 2%. The surface quality of defective concrete was effectively improved by using this coating.
