A non-benzene and non-toxic epoxy mastic coating with elementary surface treatment has been prepared by using acetone and ethanol as solvents and high-efficient and non-toxic modified phosphates as antirust pigment. The prepared coating can be applied directly on the substrate with rust pitting, oxide scale and various old coatings which are remained after the simple treatment or artificially pre-treatment, which is characterized by environmental friendly, high performance and easy-to-use, especially for protection of steel structures of various water conservancy and bridge engineering. Furthermore, it can also be applied for various newly built steel structured engineering, which is in consistence with the development trend of new-type coatings.
